Coaxial Hot Gas
High-efficiency desolvation is achieved by coaxially blowing high-temperature gas around the nebulizer gas. High-sensitivity analyses can be performed with ESI for wide variety of compounds even in the challenging matrices. The loss of sensitivity is suppressed even at high HPLC flow rates. The maximum HPLC flow rate applicable to ESI is 3 mL/min.
HSID [Hot Source Induced Desolvation]
The multi-orthogonal inlet with heated device efficiently removes noise components during ion gas introduction. In addition, the exhaust system removes the interferences from ESI sprayer into the drainage which results in minimizing the instrument down time. As a result, the system can properly work out in long term without the need to clean or replace the ion source.

Plug-and-Play Ionization Probes

Plug-and-play instrument setup perfectly eliminates troublesome operations such as wiring and plumbing thanks to the cable-less ionization source design. The ionization probe position and needle protrusion is easily optimized without dismounting.

The LCMS-8080 adapts a unique vertical ion path configuration incorporating multiple new technologies to enhance the sensitivity in challenging matrices. It requires just 50 x 50 cm footprints to save priceless laboratory space.

High-Temperature Ion Source Improves Sensitivity

The Coaxial Hot Gas technology accelerates ionization and desolvation. With reserpine for example, as shown in the figure at right, the signal intensity has been improved 8-fold. In addition, by utilizing Coaxial Hot Gas, a wide range of samples, from high polarity through medium to low polarity, can now be measured by ESI with high sensitivity.
At the HSID, the contact ratio between the ion plume and the heated path is increased. Subsequently, the efficiency of desolvation is improved and chemical noise is significantly reduced to maximize the S/N ratio. LCMS-8080 achieves the lowest detection limits at the femtogram to attogram level for a variety of compounds.
Furthermore, the 5-stage differential pumping system increase the introduction of ions and a laminar flow is formed by the Triple RF ion guide smoothly transfer the ions to quadruple analyzer.

Providing the better linearity in a wide variety of compounds

The LCMS-8080 gives great linearity with wide dynamic range. With the calibration curves of cilostazol, an excellent linearity (R2 = 0.9999) was obtained across the calibration levels from 2 pg/mL to 50 ng/mL. In addition, even at low concentrations, a relative error and area repeatability were achieved less than 15 % and 10 % respectively. That highlights the performance of the LCMS-8080 to successfully conduct the analyses with wider dynamic range from low to high concentrations.

Stress-free Analysis Environment
abSolutions LCMS Version 5 is integrated workstation software used to control LCMS-8080 systems. Full HPLC control is included for LC-VP and Prominence modules, and for the Nexera UHPLC series. Standard data processing features include a Quantitation Browser, which is useful for quantitative processing of multiple analytes, and a Data Browser for overlaying chromatograms. The Data Browser allows the user to analyze and compare multiple sets of data, such as multiple chromatograms or LCMS spectra in the same window. It also allows LC and MS data to be linked, which is especially useful when searching for or identifying compounds. In addition, the popular report function was expanded to enable printing results in a wider variety of formats.

This Method Package allows for efficient MRM analysis using trypsin-digested progranulin without the need for the laborious tasks often required. Most users end these tasks, such as the selection of the target peptides, investigation of the analysis conditions, and optimization of the MS parameters with respect to the selected peptides, to be the most time-consuming part of method development.
By using this already developed method, the retention time is adjusted according to the HPLC configuration when the system is installed, and analysis can be started by simply providing the designated column, mobile phase, and reagents.
